Upside-Down Umbau

Da es einige Linksspieler gibt, die auf 'normal' bespannten Gitarren das Spielen gelernt haben baue ich jede E-Gitarre auf Wunsch auch auf die seitenverkehrte Bespannung um. Richtwerte für den Umbau:
Sattel fertige ich aus Knochen neu an. Dazu wird die Kompensation an der Brücke gespiegelt und das Instrument komplett auf Wunschbesaitung eingestellt. Preise ab EURO 90,- inkl. Saiten.

Ted McCarthy: ''Why they were making so many left-handed guitars, I don't know. I would never do it. I didn't do it in the 18 1/2 years that I was running Gibson. We had dealers that we wanted to keep, big dealers, and if they had a customer who wanted a left-handed guitar, we'd make it for them. That was no big deal for us, no reason why we wouldn't. But to make a lot of them in production is stupid in my book. I would never do it because you couldn't sell them. A smart dealer is not going to fill up his store with a bunch of left-handed guitars. If somebody comes in and wants one, we make it for him and we charge a little more for it.''

George Gruhn: ''In my 45 years of selling guitars, I have acquired a very limited number of good, collectible vintage left-handed instruments - about an average of only one a year. ... The quality is exponentally better today than it's been since I started ... Left-handed players need to be more flexible than right-handed players in what they're willing to accept, but they don't need to compromise as much as they used to.''

Guitar Aficionado (on vintage guitars): ''It is estimated that one out of every 10 people is left-handed. However, the number of left-handed guitarists who actually play left-handed is much lower, and as a result, less than one-twentieth of the guitar playing population actually purchases left-handed guitars.
Because most guitar companies often ignore the needs of this relatively small segment of the playing community, collectors of left-handed vintage guitars encounter many challenges, with scarcity being the biggest roadblock of all. A recent search on GBase.com turned up only 23 left-handed instruments made between 1900 and 1970. In many instances, left-handed models of popular guitars, such as the Sixties non-reverse Gibson Firtebird don't even exist (in fact this is not valid, although tendency of this statement is absolutely correct ... JK 2010).''
